{"id":182,"date":"2020-05-06T13:34:43","date_gmt":"2020-05-06T20:34:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fhpedu.com\/Blog\/?p=182"},"modified":"2021-07-10T14:13:31","modified_gmt":"2021-07-10T21:13:31","slug":"5-fitness-tips-you-want-to-know-during-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fhpedu.com\/blog\/5-fitness-tips-you-want-to-know-during-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"5 Fitness Tips You Want to Know During COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With gyms around the country (and the world) closed for weeks now, how are we all to stay fit while in quarantine?&nbsp; Here are 5 ways you and your clients can stay fit during COVID-19:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stick To A Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When the world was operating normally, you likely had some set routine where you either worked out before or after work.&nbsp; Try to replicate that same routine as much as possible during the quarantine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That means waking up at the same time, working during the same hours, and working out during the same hours.&nbsp; Keeping a routine like this will not only help you feel somewhat normal, it\u2019ll help the time pass by much faster. Remember, it\u2019s important to help your body stay fit during COVID-19!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Play Music While Working Out<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Many people prefer to work out at a gym rather than at home.&nbsp; This is because having other people around can be motivating.&nbsp; But another hidden reason is music.&nbsp; There\u2019s a ton of research behind this but listening to certain music can make people work out harder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn\u2019t work for everyone but I recommend you try it.&nbsp; Test it out and see what works best for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grease The Groove<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re unable to block off 30-120 minutes to work out, try a strategy called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/better-humans\/grease-the-groove-the-russian-military-secret-to-strength-endurance-ce2b34f5e67d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/better-humans\/grease-the-groove-the-russian-military-secret-to-strength-endurance-ce2b34f5e67d\">greasing the groove<\/a>.\u00a0 This involves fitting in a few reps of an exercise whenever you can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Say for example you have a pull-up bar set up in the kitchen.&nbsp; Every time you walk by for a drink of water, do a few reps on the pull-up bar.&nbsp; It\u2019s important that you don\u2019t max out your reps \u2013 just do half of what you can normally do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Greasing the groove is said to increase your neurological pathways and increase your strength.&nbsp; Over time, you\u2019ll get better at that exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Work on Flexibility and Rehab<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you want to get more flexible?&nbsp; Do you have rehab\/injury prevention exercises you were prescribed by your physiotherapist but never did?&nbsp; Now\u2019s the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While (most of us) can\u2019t be lifting heavy weights at home, we can all take the time to work on weaknesses and other things we maybe didn\u2019t have time for before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Virtual Classes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you REALLY can\u2019t work out at home on your own, try joining a virtual class.&nbsp; Many gyms, yoga studios, etc. are live-streaming their classes on Zoom.&nbsp; Joining virtual workout classes is a great way to get motivated and stay connected with your friends and gym mates. The best part?
