Are you currently certified by another NFLA organization, ICREPs, or YMCA? You can apply to transfer those credentials to a Fitness Leader designation through the BCRPA course transfer process.
You won’t have to take the Fitness Theory course or other courses to achieve an equivalent designation/module by taking a course transfer.
BCRPA Course Transfer Partners
If you have a current registration with the following NFLA provincial/territorial agencies, you can apply for a transfer:
- Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association (AFLCA)
- Saskatchewan Parks & Recreation Association (SPRA)
- Manitoba Fitness Council (MFC)
- Fitness New Brunswick (FNB)
- Nova Scotia Fitness Association (NSFA)
To apply for a course transfer, you need to complete the Transfer Application Form. Then, submit that along with the required documentation.
From there, most students are approved and will receive the equivalent designation. But you may also need to challenge the exam (i.e. for Fitness Theory or Personal Training) or take a practical ICE evaluation for that particular module. If that’s the case, the BCRPA will follow up with additional instructions on registering for those exams and evaluations.
