BCRPA Exam Proctor Requirements
BCRPA exam proctors for the Personal Training (PT) or Advanced Fitness Theory (AFT) exams must be:
- Registered with the BCRPA as a Supervisor of Fitness Leaders (SFL) or a Trainer of Fitness Leaders (TFL); OR
- One of the following:
- A doctor or registered nurse
- Engineer or accountant
- Notary or lawyer
- Librarian
- Member of clergy
- University, college, or high school faculty, instructor or teacher (principals or vice-principals are also allowed)
Exam Location Requirements
The exam cannot take place in a private home. Hence, it must be in a professional setting such as a place of business, public service facility, or educational institution.
BCRPA Exam Proctor Request
All exam requests must be in writing and you must make one application for each exam sitting. It may take up to 2 weeks to process your application.
If you are an SFL or TFL, you can request an exam via email or mail.
If you are an external proctor, you must request an exam via a letter using your business letterhead. Make sure that you sign and date it as well.
Once the BCRPA Fitness Registration Program grants you your proctor privileges, it is non-transferable and can be revoked at any time. You MUST be directly supervising the examinees for the duration of the exam.
Also, you CANNOT be related to any examinee by family, marriage, or working relationship.
Exam Requests Must Include:
- The exam being requested and the number of copies needed
- List of students writing the exam
- Date, time & location of the exam
- Mailing address to where the exams will be sent
- Proctor’s business email and phone number
- Proctor’s signature
Exam Proctor Fees
Obviously, there is time and effort involved in being a proctor. In recognition of this, BCRPA exam proctors are able to charge a fee to students for their services at their own discretion.
